Where's George???

It's been almost 3 month's since I've sat down to type something for this blog and a lot has happened.

Yesterday was 4 months that I've been working at GETPAID. I passed the 90-day intro period and I'm now an "official" employee. I've finally been able to understand how the product works and now feel more comfortable working with the technical side of it on a daily basis. I still have many things to learn regarding the older versions of the software, but I've been able to grasp the new stuff quickly. Unfortuantly I'm now working the late shift on Thursdays, which wouldn't be a problem except that we're now into the start of another basketball season.

Speaking of hoops, the Nets made some big moves in the off-season. They acquired Dikembe Mutumbo through a trade with Philadelphia that got rid of Keith Van Horn and Todd Todd MacCulloch. Rodney Rogers came over from Boston. Chris Childs, who started his career in Jersey with the 94-95 season, now returns as a backup to Kidd. Two rookies selected in the draft are Tamar Slay and Nenad Kristic, who aren't expected to make any major contributions this season. Richard Jefferson is now a starter. The Nets have a great starting 5 and also a great bench. So far they are undefeated in the preseason, winning 4 games. They have 3 games remaining, with the fifth game tonight in Toronto. According to NBA.com, the Nets will make the playoffs if, 'Kidd plays 60 or more games."They'll miss the playoffs if, Kidd forgets how to dribble, Kittles forgets how to shoot, Jefferson forgets how to run, Martin forgets how to dunk, Mutombo forgets how to defend ... In other words, New Jersey should make the postseason."

On Monday, my grandma will be having surgery on one of her knees. She had surgery on the other knee a few years ago and everything went smoothly, so this time I hope there won't be any complications.

I also gave in and decided to get a new cell phone. I had the Motorola 8767 for 2 years, and even though it was working fine, I wanted to get a new one. I got the Motorola T720 and I'm glad I did. The phone rocks, and I highly recommend it to anyone with Verizon Wireless as their cell phone carrier.

I also spent some money, actually a lot of money, buying DVD's from the Wiz when they had their going out of business sale at a store near me. The first time I went, all DVD's were 20% off. I bought some thinking it was a good price. A few days later they had 30% off. That was a much better price so I purchased some more. I went back another time and now it was 40% off. I ended up going to the Wiz 4 times and purchased about 50 DVD's, nerly doubling my DVD collection. The only problem is I don't have enough time to watch them all. I figure I won't be able to get through them all until some time next year.

Well, that's about it for now. I should have more time in upcoming weeks to update this blog more often, but if I don't, perhaps I'll change the name to, "A Daily Dose Of Nothing: Your #1 Source For Quarterly Crap."
