Official Xbox Magazine, June 2002 Issue

Today I received the June issue of the Official Xbox Magazine. This months game disk included 5 demos along with a Dead or Alive 3 bonus pack.

One of the things the DOA 3 bonus pack includes are new costumes for each character. Some characters get 3 new costumes while others only get 1. In order to use them you must have a retail copy of DOA 3. The game disc will detect the DOA 3 save file and add all the new costumes to it. In my opinion the best new costume is Tina's. There's also supposed to be some other goodies, but I haven't played around with it long enough to find them. This is the first time in console game history that there has been an add on for a game.

Here's a list of the demos on the disc and my opinion of them.

Halo: It's Halo, enough said!
JSRF - Jet Set Radio Future: The graphics are great and the game play is really good as well. This one deserves a rental.
Max Payne: The game appeared very dark and was difficult to see at times. I don't think it's my TV since it's properly calibrated and I have yet to experience this problem with other games. the game doesn't include any brightness adjustments. The controls are okay, but I like aiming my weapon at someone with a mouse instead of a thumbstick. I'll stick with the PC version.
Test Drive Off-Road Wide Open: The graphics are good, but after playing it some mroe it seems too easy. I like Rallisport Challenge more.
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2: The graphics are really good and it's a fun game. There's only 1 level and no challenges, so I may have to rent this game to have a better opinion of it.
