Star Wars: Episode II - Digitally Projected

When I was younger I used to enjoy going to the movies for the buttery popcorn, the sugary candy and of course, watching a movie on the big screen. These days, I hate movie theaters. The sound isn't always good, the picture doesn't always look clear and the price of refreshments and admission is too expensive. I prefer to rent DVD's for $5 and watch them in my own theater. Okay, so it's just my bedroom, but it's got an HDTV and Dolby Digital / DTS surround sound. The picture is sharp, sound is great, and refreshments are free for all moviegoers.

Today, my girlfriend and I went to see Star Wars Episode II in a theater where it was being shown digitally. I didn't think the picture quality was a good as my HDTV, but I'd much rather watch a movie on the big screen than a 36" TV. The surround sound was definitely better than my home theater and probably any movie theater I've ever been in.

This was my first experience watching a movie digitally projected and it was highly enjoyable. I thought the movie was pretty bad, but if you're going to see Episode II, make sure you see it digitally since it is "A technological triumph for few".
